Morning Radio in the Weiner Mobile in Indianapolis. You can’t make this up.

I knew I was in trouble when the club’s publicist opened with, “Trust me, this is gonna be fun”. I was also told that without this we would have no other press and the key to performing in any club is to get people to come out to the show. They’ve got to know you’re there or the weekend is pointless. So, you do shows at night and then get up at 6 AM and to promote. It’s usually the most painful part of the job. You’re exhausted and working on no sleep. But it is almost as important as being funny. Most of the time you’ll go to a radio station and try to squeeze your act seemlessly into a 5 minute segment with a DJ who is juggling traffic, music, and assorted sound effects. That being said, today was a new one. We climbed into the weiner mobile, drove around for 2 hours, and got dropped off at a local TV station to go on an “Indy Lifestyle” show for a cooking segment. Hilarious. I was exhausted. We had a show last night and two tonight. i’ve been living in a hotel for 2 weeks. So, I was not looking forward at all to this sojourn into publicity hell. That being said, we had a ball. Our two hosts in the hot dog car were awesome. The radio peeps were a ton of fun. And the TV station was remarkably nice. I don’t know if anyone is coming to the show tonight because of it, but we had a great time and thanks to all of our hosts who made this morning a great time.
